Smart Corner


• 1 cup red lentil (200g) (soaked for 20 - 25 mins)
• 1 inch of ginger (roughly chopped)
• 4 cloves of garlic (roughly chopped)
• 1 cup flat leaf parsley or cilantro/coriander leaves
• 1/2 cup almond flour/meal (50g) or whole cashew nuts OR oat crumbs
• 1 teaspoon garam masala powder or curry (OPTIONAL)
• 1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper OR 2 green chilles OR Chili flakes
• 1 teaspoon cumin powder
• 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
• Juice of 1/2 lemon  
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon olive oil
• 1 medium onion (grated - about 1 cup approx.)
• 1 cup grated potato
• 1 cup grated carrots
• 1 cup grated cabbage 
• Salt to taste
• 3 tbsp coconut oil or olive oil for pan frying

  • Wash off the red lentils, and let it soak for 20-25minutes, after that drain the soaked lentil and place it aside. 
  • Now in a heated pan add 1 teaspoon of cooking oil and add all the grated vegetables and salt to taste and then mix all the ingredients properly. For 4-5 minutes let the vegetables cook in a medium heat.  Turn off the heat once the vegetables cook set it aside for cooling down. 
  • In a food processor include red lentils, 1inch of ginger(roughly chopped),4 cloves of garlic (roughly chopped),1 cup flat leaf parsley or  cilantro/coriander leaves, 1/2 cup almond flour/meal (50g)or  whole cashew nuts or bread crumbs, Salt to taste,1 teaspoon garam masala powder, 1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper or Indian red chili powder or 2 green chilles or Chili flakes, 1 teaspoon cumin powder, 1 teaspoon black pepper powder, Juice of 1 lime or1 lemon  to your taste and then  blend all the ingredients well. 
  • In other bowl add the red lentil mixture, vegetables, and a salt then mix it well. 
  • Now for making the kebabs you would need to apply little oil on both hands so that the mixture does not stick to the hands.  Shape the kebabs as per your likings.
  • For cooking the kebabs add oil in a pan then cooks the kebabs for 3-4 minutes in a medium heat, once the kebab turn golden turn off the heat.
